Happy New Year……………………..
This letter comes with sincere hope that each and every one of you enjoyed a holiday filled with warmth and laughter and that all the blessings of the season continue for you and your family through the new year.
Thank you to our special decorating team of Monica Pallaci, Angie Conner and Liz Day for giving our Lodge the cozy holiday feel through out. Everything looked spectacular.
Other activities during the holiday month included sponsoring 2 families for Christmas through Caring Services, providing wish list items for both parents and children. Thank you to Robin Webster for taking on this project.
We sponsored a third family through GTCC’s Adalyn’s Kids Christmas Drive. Thank you to Theresa Franklin for taking on this project.
I would like to take the time to Thank Beth Hawks for being the head ELF in charge of our holiday packages to the troops. The Ladies filled 175 boxes to send to soldiers serving our country in Afghanistan. Several Auxiliary members and their families filled and wrapped the boxes. Thank you all who helped make Christmas a little brighter for our soldiers away from home this season.
On January 12th the Ladies will be provide a “Soup and Game Night” for the
residents of Sheraton Towers. We will be taking soup, corn bread, games and a variety of special treats. We are all looking forward to this special time with these folks. As a subsidized housing community for the elderly and low-income families, we plan on supporting Sheraton Towers with similar events in 2010 on a regular basis.
For all those who would like to see what we are all about please feel free to come to one of our meetings. We hold them the 1st Tuesday of each months. Our meetings start with a social at 6p followed by dinner and then our meeting.
We would love to have you come and share any ideas you may have to help us maintain our success as the great Auxiliary we have become.
I look forward to a fun-filled 2010.
