As the 2009 – 2010 Elk year comes to a close I am honored to represent our Lodge as Exalted Ruler for 2010 -2011.  With the experience of our Past Exalted Rulers and the enthusiasm of our newly elected officers this will to be a positive and exciting year for all of our members.  Our house committee and I have already been working on several events for the upcoming year, so please remember to check your monthly newsletter and the Elks web site for some great events.

High Point Lodge #1155 will be concentrating on three major charities this year; Camp Carefree, The V.A. and The N.C. State Veterans Nursing home in Salisbury.  With the support of the Ladies Auxiliary and our “best in the state” volunteers we will make a difference for all three of these organizations.

I am proud to say that our Lodge will be well represented at the N.C. State Elks Association Spring Convention.  Our Ladies Auxiliary have been called upon, once again, to host the spouse’s breakfast. If you have never been to a convention this is no small task. Thanks Ladies!

With March Madness in full swing, and the Major League Baseball season starting up, the member’s lounge is the place to be to watch your favorite team or meet up with some old & new friends.

I welcome all members to attend our Wednesday Lodge meetings this year. We will return to the past with dinner and beverages served upstairs in our beautiful dining room prior to all meetings.
