The High Point Elks Lodge #1155 is considering applying for one of the Impact Grants with the Elks National Foundation. Impact Grants give us, as Elks, the ability to build a stronger community and help increase community awareness about the service work of the Elks organization.
We want to use this grant to make a significant difference in the community by addressing a need that we feel will help the area or to help educate a large portion of the population, i.e.-children, seniors, young adults, etc. To see other past grants that were awarded, please go to www.elks.org and click on the Impact Grants Awarded link.
We want this Impact Grant Project to include a high level of Lodge participation, so we are asking for suggestions from everyone on a project that we all can be involved in creating and enjoy implementing. A folder will be placed in the Lounge on the wall for you to submit your suggestions. If we are to receive a grant this year, please submit your suggestions by August 2nd. We have to submit the grant application to the Elks National Foundation by August 31. If we do not receive enough interest this year, we will keep it posted and apply for an Impact Grant for the year 2012.
Please remember that Impact Grants are competitive grants, and not every application will be approved. The Foundation draws from a grant pool of $500,000. Impact Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to the highest rated applicants.
This year’s grants will be announced toward the end of ENF Month in October 2010.
Let’s pool together our ideas and make an positive impact on the community.
Thank you,
Deanna Blankenship
