This year’s Americanism Essay Contest will be based on the theme “What does the National Anthem mean to me”. It is a simple essay of 250 words or less that is open to any child in grades 5-8. There are two divisions; grades 5-6 and grades 7-8. Our Lodge gives a $25 gift card, a $15 gift card and a $10 gift card to Barnes and Noble for First, Second and Third Place on the Lodge level. The District and the State award gift cards and Savings Bonds.

All essays, plus an attached sheet with the contact info for the parents of the child and the grade level, should be at the lodge no later than 4pm on Thursday, January 3rd. I look forward to reading a lot of essays this year!
