What a wonderful summer we have had! Thank you to the Pool Committee, House Committee and all of our Lifeguards that helped us to have such a fun and memorable summer. Today is September 1st and I hope to see good weather and a great turnout this weekend as we celebrate one last weekend with our friends, family and fellow Elks at the pool. There is a full day of fun planned for Labor Day so please check the website for all of the details!

We have some very exciting events already planned for the fall season. Family Grille Nights will pick back up on Thursday, September 7th and will continue through Memorial Day of next year. Please bring your family out for these fun nights in the Lounge. The House Committee volunteers cook each week and provide our families with a delicious burger (and other items) for a low price. We also have the NFL games on each Thursday night and Sundays too. Both days are family friendly! On Sundays, we serve Mike’s famous wings which are always a big hit. Saturday, September 9th: @ Oak Hollow Mall parking lot we will host the 1st Annual Disabled Veterans Auto Show from 10 am – 3 pm. Please come out to support our efforts and raise money for a great cause!
Sunday, September 10th: NFL Tailgate @ Noon. We will have all the games on TV up at the upper field parking lot (under tents). We will supply the hot grills. You bring whatever food you would to cook. Bring a chair.
Saturday, September 23rd: 70s/80s Party 7:30 pm upstairs ball room. We will have a great DJ spinning our favorite tunes from that era. Tickets can be purchased in the Lounge for $15 each/ $25 per couple . Find your parachute pants and old polyester suits! This should be a big time!

Tuesday, September 19th is a very important night for our Lodge. Each year we hold our Drawdown Night. This event is the most important fundraiser for our Lodge. There are only 300 tickets available and we must sell them all. The proceeds from this event help us with our operating expenses and gives us the capital needed to upgrade and replace things that tend to break (HVAC, plumbing, etc.). Please contact a Lodge Officer or call the office at 336-869-7313 to purchase your ticket for $100 each. Dinner and drinks are included. This is always a fun and exciting evening with opportunities to win HUGE prizes! It’s imperative that we sell all of our tickets this year. Please do what you can to purchase your ticket(s) this year and help our Lodge continue to thrive!

I am excited for our Lodge as we move into the fall season. We have so many great events planned and I look forward to seeing ALL of you as we move away from pool season. Remember, one of the special things about the Elks, which separates us from so many other places, is that we are open ALL YEAR. Please use your Membership to the fullest and come to the Lodge during the non-pool months. Whether its NFL Sundays, Family Grille Nights, Chili Cook-off are anything else that piques your interest, we want to see you and all of our Members at the High Point Elks Lodge!
