I am sitting here reflecting on all the things that happened in June. It was quite a month; the pool is full of kids and families creating a lifetime of memories under the Carolina sun. It is great to see everyone enjoying their summer.
We had a few different special events that we participated in throughout June. We had a Flag Day at the Cassell House in High Point on Friday June 14th celebrating the history of our flag. The Veterans that lived there appreciated the Elks coming to there house to hold the ceremony.
The following day we held the traditional Flag Day ceremony around the pool. One week later some Elks from High Point, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Winston Salem meet at Camp Carefree and cooked burgers and brats for the families there.
Giving back to communities that is at the core of what we do as Elks. The fourth of July celebration is right around the corner, take advantage of all the wonderful activities your lodge has to offer and celebrate the independence our great nation.
I hope to see you around the lodge sometime soon.
