The month of September saw some big events at the Lodge, including our Annual Charity Raffle. This was the major fundraiser for the Lodge. The house was packed with people hoping to go home with a little extra in their pocket, and 5 people were lucky enough to do so. A big thank-you to everyone that sold tickets and got the word out for the drawdown. A very big special thank you to Shari Driscoll for making this event a reality. This is a large undertaking, and it was a great success.

The end of September saw a tragic hurricane affect our great state and our Elks brothers and sisters to the west. Many are left wondering about their loved ones that are missing. Many have lost everything. It is time to give back and show that we live our motto, “Elks Care, Elks Share,” so we are collecting much needed supplies for all the people in that area. I hope to report at the end of October all the supplies that were donated to those in need. Please give if you are able. Collection boxes have been placed at the entrance to the Lodge.

We have some great events planned this month, family dinner nights are back, Mike’s famous wings are back, so keep an eye out for the weekly updates of all the happenings at your Lodge. Most of all, take time to give back and lend a helping hand to those in desperate need in our state.
