January has just about come to an end and even though we struggled through some very cold temperatures for North Carolina. We saw some beautiful days towards the end of the month giving us a sneak peek into spring.

Our district hoop shoot just concluded last weekend. We had kids from all over the west central district show up and put up free throws to earn their chance to make it to the state hoop shoot in Greensboro in February. Hutch did a great job putting on the hoop shoot and with the help of a lot of volunteers from the district, and an especially great showing from lodge members of High Point. Thanks for all you did to make this a great event for the kids.

PER steak night is next week and it is my turn to put on the steak night. We will have steaks and an option for salmon if you would like something different. We are just a little over a week from the Super Bowl party at the lodge. The lounge will open at 2:30PM that day, there will be fun activities and a BBQ meal from 4-6PM. We hope that you include the lodge into your Super Bowl plans.

My year as your Exalted Ruler is quickly coming to a close, Sean is looking for a few more officers for next year as well as people who want to serve on a committee. If you are interested, please talk to Sean or any of the lodge officers, you will never regret getting more involved in your Elks lodge.
