The High Point Elks Lodge is off to a great start in the New Year. Our New Year’s Eve event was sold out this year and I would like to thank everyone that helped to make it a success. Your House Committee did an outstanding job of making it all come together. A big thank you goes out to Mark Vernon for helping to bring in the Last Resort Band.

On Saturday January 17, our Lodge hosted the Annual Hoop Shoot event, which was held at High Point Central High School. There were approximately 40 participants in this year’s event. The winners of each age group will advance to the District level event this coming weekend, Saturday the 24th.

Football season is coming to a close. Be sure to come out and cheer for your favorite team on Super Bowl Sunday, February 1. We’ll have all TVs tuned to the game in the lounge and our newly installed High Definition projector will be showing the game on the dance floor wall. The picture is phenomenal and the 140” screen size is much larger than displayed by the previous projector. We’ll also have food in the lounge and upstairs. We’ll have the upstairs setup for a kid friendly environment. I hope you all will join us for this event.

Lastly, the High Point Lodge will host a District Deputy clinic on Sunday February 8 at 10 AM. All members and their spouses are welcome to come out. Members will take part in the business meeting, while a special program will be held for all spouses in attendance. Lunch for all will follow.
