The summer season is in full swing and I hope that everyone is enjoying it as much as I am!! June was a very exciting month for our Lodge and there were several events that were very special. I would like to congratulate the swim team for their great showing at our first home meet. We have two remaining home meets this month. Please come out and support our team!

A few of the events in June were the Flag Day ceremony on June 22nd in conjunction with the Flag Day Poker Run. Big Bump and the Stun Gunz was fun as well. I want to thank Russ Pallaci for his coordination of the “Father’s Day Eve Fish Fry” which was very successful and we hope to do something similar in the near future. June was a very fun month!

July will be a busy month as well. The HP Elks blood drive will be July 3rd from 3pm – 7:30pm upstairs. Please give the gift of life! We will have the annual July 4th cookout with burgers and hot dogs for $1. Make sure you get there early, as chairs go quickly. You can purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win a reserved table with four chairs and lunch for the 4th of July. Tickets can be purchased in the Lounge or from any of the pool committee members. Vern, Tuck and Stormin’ Norman will be performing pool side on July 13th and The Jimmy Leggs Band on July 27th. Please visit the website to view all of our upcoming events.

It is my honor and privilege to be representing our Lodge at the Elks National Convention July 14th – 18th in Reno, Nevada. There are several proposed changes that we announced at our last Lodge meeting which must be voted on during the convention. These are posted in the Lounge. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions on these proposed changes.
