Happy Holidays!
The Ladies have been busy this month, and still have more planned for December!
The breakfast at the Fall Convention in Concord, NC was a huge success. Carol Newman outdid herself with the 33 baskets that she put together for us to share with others from Lodges across the state. Carol Hoover also again did a great job with coordinating the breakfast for all participants and hosting the game “Are you Smarter than an Elk”! Thank you Kathy Pascavage for helping with the questions!
We held our first Food Drive and were excited by the outpouring of support we received. We gathered bag after bag of non-perishable items that we donated to Caring Services. Scott, Robin, and Eric Webster, as well as Jim Camp, delivered the food. Thanks to Jim for the use of his truck and to all who donated both food and time to make our first one such a success. We look forward to sponsoring this event again next year!
After 3 days of rain, the sun came out and shined on us all at the Fall Carnival. Carol Hoover, Shari Driscoll, and all who participated made it a fun day for all. A special thanks goes out to Theresa Franklin, Monica Pallaci, and Linda Transou for running the concession stand. The day was topped off with the Chili Cook-off taking place at the same time with Angie Conner taking the prize with her special salsa. Congrats to Angie and all the winners that day.
Linda Transou has been very busy with all the preparations for the upcoming Breakfast with Santa, to be held on Saturday, December 19th, starting at 9:00am. Linda will be sending out an email to remind everyone of the date. If you signed up to donate food items, she will be sending out an email reminder for this.
While you’re in the Lodge, be sure to grab a card off the Veteran’s Tree downstairs. Each card has a suggested gift item for our friends at the VA hospital. Please bring your wrapped gift back to the Lodge as soon as you can so we can include it in our December visit with them!
Finally, just a reminder that if you haven’t joined the Auxiliary and would like to learn what we are about, please come to a meeting, held at 6:00 pm on the first Tuesday of the month. If you recently joined and haven’t attended a meeting yet, remember your dinner is on us at your first meeting.
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
