The month of May started off with our NC State Elks Association Convention in Wilmington NC, I am proud to say that our Lodge was well represented with Elks and guests totaling 29 people. Our Ladies Aux. did another fine job, hosting the Ladies breakfast. Special thanks go out to Fran and Carol Hoover for the set up, clean-up and hosting of our hospitality room.
The High Point Lodge received a certificate for 1st place out of all Lodges in the state for Our Veterans Remembrance Report, this is something to be proud of as we had 100% activity in the Annual Veterans Remembrance Report.
We also received a Treasured Volunteer Award for our Volunteerism at the N.C. State Veterans Home.
On the same week-end in May while some of us were in Wilmington, Tom Adams (our youth committee chairman) gathered up quite a group of Volunteers to setup, cook, and serve Hot dogs and Burgers for the High Point Pony Baseball league family day. I would like to thank all of our members and guests for the great job. Also a big THANK YOU goes out to Ronnie Lassiter and Floyd Evans for the job they did rebuilding our charcoal grills.
Our annual Raffle was a success once again, my thanks go out to David Horne for all his work in organizing the event which takes months of preparation and planning.
Now that the pool is open, please stop by your Lodge and sit out on the deck, watch or play some volleyball, or just mingle with some of your fellow Elks.
Have a safe Summer!
