Over the winter the High Point Elks swim team received a very generous gift from the HP Elks Lodge.  Our membership purchased 8 KDI Paragon standard quickset stainless steel starting blocks from the Guilford College swim program when its board decided not to renovate their pool.  These blocks are five years old “used but in very good condition”.  They were purchased at about 25-30% of their present day cost.  These powder coated starting blocks will last a lifetime.

Also noteworthy, handyman, John Spencer (Coach Brooke’s dad) deserves a very big thank you for giving these blocks plenty of TLC.  Over the winter & spring John cleaned them up with steel wool and other cleaners to make them look perfect.  Even better, John hand built a rolling cart for the blocks to be properly cared for and maintained during storage.  Great effort John!!!
