The High Point Elks Lodge held our annual awards presentation this past weekend. This is where we recognize the people who have been particularly generous with their time and energy in working to improve our Lodge and community during the past year.
Carol Hoover was the recipient of our Citizen of the Year award. This award goes to an individual who has shown leadership in the community; has contributed voluntary service and is recognized as being an all-around good citizen. Carol certainly meets all of these criteria. She is a longtime member of our Ladies Auxiliary and has served in many capacities including president. Carol also applied for a grant from her employer, Aetna, and was awarded a $1,000 donation which she presented to the Elks National Foundation on behalf of our Lodge. Thanks Carol!
The Officer of the Year award went to Russ Pallaci. Russ was our House Committee chairman for the past two years and is our current Leading Knight. He has been very active at the Lodge since the day he was initiated and has truly become one of our leaders. Great job Russ, you are an outstanding Elk!
Ben Adams was presented with the Elk of the Year award. Ben has served on several committees at the Lodge and is a current member of the House Committee. He always makes certain that we are prepared for the many events that we host. Thanks for all of your efforts “Beano”, and congratulations on being Elk of the Year!
