February seemed to fly by, we had a LOT of rain and even had some snow and ice. Regardless of the weather, your Lodge had lots lined up for everyone to enjoy, no matter what Mother Nature threw our way. The month started off with our annual Super Bowl party that was well attended and what an exciting game it was to watch on any number of our big screens. We have a lot of members who are football fans, and I can’t think of a better place to enjoy the big game with BBQ and Pork Butts, fun and fellowship that we offer during this event. A couple of weeks later the NASCAR season kicked off with the Daytona 500 and of course we were ready for the crowd with Mike’s Sunday Wings and drink specials. The Mardi Gras dinner – thanks to all who cooked the Chicken Gumbo, Shrimp Jambalaya and Muffuletta Sandwiches, they were fabulous.
Our annual Past Exalted Rulers (PER) announced the nominations the new officers for the upcoming year and all have been voted on by the membership. The upcoming Exalted Ruler will be Phil Driscoll, Leading Knight will be Richard Golden, Loyal Knight will be Kevin Scott, Lecturing Knight will be Vanessa Slack, Secretary stays with Shari Driscoll, Treasurer will be Deanna Vernon, Esquire will be Mark Vernon, Inner Guard will be Steve Perdue, Tiler will be Chick Overby, and Chaplain will be Tommy Frazier. Be sure to congratulate them on their new appointments.
March is shaping up to be a great month—We have our last PER Steak night until next December on March 5th (RSVP required), St. Patty’s Day Party, ACC basketball tournament games, Mikes Famous Wings on Sundays, Family Grille Night on Thursdays the Wii bowling on Sundays. The end of the month we will have our annual Officer Installation and Award ceremony. As you can see, there is a lot of opportunity for everyone to enjoy their Lodge.
